In a recent study that explored the popularity of emojis and their use across the globe, SwiftKey has was revealed that Australian’s are leading the world in the use of hedonistic emojis.
According to the emojis we send each other every day, Australians:
- doubled the world’s average use of alcohol related emojis
- scored 65% higher in their use of drug related emojis
- ranked 60% higher in their use of holiday related emojis and;
- lead the world in the use of both junk food and holiday themed emojis
Whilst the correlation between emoji use and actual behaviour can’t be tangibly measured, it is interesting to consider if the emojis you send map to your real world behaviour.
