Statistics compiled by SocialMediaNews.com.au for December 2014.

As mentioned in November – at this time of year we see some users change the way they use social media – predominantly younger people < 40 years of age. We see some of this demographic ditch their business related social networking in favour of posting up their summer holiday enjoyment. Quite common actually.

Key Points/ Commentary

  • Over the month LinkedIn sees a drop of over 1 million users as business social networking dips at this time of year
  • Surprising to see Yelp drop 200,000 users over the Christmas period
  • YouTube has a slight increase
  • Most other social networks remain steady
