Favourite platform and why?

Instagram. It’s not as confusing to me as SnapChat and it doesn’t have my mum on it like Facebook. It’s a happy medium.

Prediction for what’s hot in digital marketing in the next 6 months?

I like to focus on design. So, I expect to see more duotone treatments over images with white text (think Spotify) and really vivid, swirly gradients (look at Apple, Asana, Pandora or Nike. I expect a bit more bespoke illustration (see Dropbox, Mailchimp and almost every other developer). I’m also seeing many palettes based in blues, turquoises, watermelons and usually offset by bright pinks, oranges and pale yellows.  

What digital marketing trend do you think is totally overrated?

Relying too heavily on data. I get it, I really do. But, I think a mixture of data and creative is what people should aim for. One shouldn’t push out the other.

Remember back to your first SMPerth, what would you tell yourself to keep in mind?

It was in 2016 and we went on one of the cruises. I had tried to catch the Blue Cat to the jetty, it took forever and I was almost late. I would tell myself to leave a few minutes early.
