There are a number of placements you can choose on multiple platforms across the Facebook family of apps and services to show your ads.
When you create your ads, you have the option of letting Facebook show your ads in places where they’re likely to perform best or manually choosing where you show your ads. The places where you run your ads are called placements.
Placements help you reach more of the people you care about in the other places where they’re spending their time. Depending on the objective you choose when you create your ad, your ads can appear on Facebook, Instagram, Audience Network and/or Messenger.
If you choose to enable Automatic Placements, this will tell Facebook to automatically select the most relevant placements at the best price, making the most efficient use of your ad budget. These include:
- Audience Network
- Messenger
If you are optimising for other objectives, then it might be worth considering testing numerous manual placements across ad sets.
