Social Media Perth continues to trend two years on

Social Media Perth has grown exponentially since its inception two years ago and is now the premier destination for all things digital and social media marketing-related in Perth.

What started as a regular evening to bring people together to have a drink and talk about working in social media has grown into a space for hundreds of industry professionals to network, learn and exchange ideas through forums, masterclasses, workshops and other special events.

Catering for all levels of social media user, from the rookie to the expert, the networking events regularly draw a crowd of business owners, entrepreneurs, marketing professionals, “Twitterati” and local personalities – all brought together to discuss the latest news and trends in digital that are relevant to them.

Social media strategist Meg Coffey, who runs social media marketing consultancy Coffey & Tea, said the response to SMPerth had been “amazing”.

“It is now a real collaborative community of like-minded, incredible industry professionals. We’ve been inundated with new members in the last few months and that really shows how much of a need and a desire there is to have a local network that caters to this growing and exciting business space,” the SMPerth founder said.

“Every SMPerth event is a fantastic way to connect with colleagues and peers and exchange ideas and find out what is happening in the digital space on a local level.

“Far too often the information we get is US-based or not relevant to our audiences. This connects us all – and the Perth digital and social media marketing space is a friendly network of innovative people who are at the forefront of this new business direction.”

The website – – is quickly becoming a leading authority exploring  news and digital trends, with articles by West Australian experts as well as contributors from across the nation.

SMPerth’s own social media following is also growing rapidly with more than 3500 Twitter followers, and more than 1200 likes on Facebook.

However SMPerth is not just about social media – its community encompasses digital marketing strategists, SEO experts and content creators, as well as entrepreneurs, consultants and businesses who want to talk about and share knowledge about all aspects of the digital space.

“This is a place where you can share ideas, thoughts on trends, find mentors and connect with some of the best minds in this dynamic industry,” Ms Coffey said.

A special SMPerth masterclass will be held on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 August and will look at the latest trends in Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to help members take their social media marketing to the next level. Details here:
