Each fortnight we’re bringing you ‘5 Minutes with’ some of our top members, and this week we caught up with Menuccia Tassone, Marketing Manager at CVCheck.
Menuccia has been coming to #SMPerth events since the beginning and has found the community to be a very valuable network.

Favourite platform and why?
No one favourite. I do love that there is an app or tech platform for everything so it’s really about getting stuck in to find the tool that suits your personal and work life. I use Twitter and LinkedIn to aggregate most of my tech and marketing learning through the blogs and companies I follow. I can also be found diving into the Instagram rabbit hole for inspiration.
Prediction for what’s hot in digital marketing in the next 6 months?
This year in March I attended SXSW (tech conference in Austin, Texas) and a lot of discussions centred around chat bots, marketing automation and AI to improve processes. These topics have really blown up in the media over the past couple of months which is great, Australian companies are becoming much faster adopters. We have started using some of these technologies in my workplace.
What digital marketing trend do you think is totally overrated?
Display Retargeting: mainly because it is often poorly used rather than it being over rated.
Selling the concept of retargeting without the correct use of goals, events and data is a waste of time – no one likes being spammed, especially after purchasing!
Remember back to your first SMPerth, what would you tell yourself to keep in mind?
Not a natural networker I would probably tell myself to set some networking goals and challenge myself to meet more people because when I do there are such interesting people to meet.
