Tips to Be More Efficient on Facebook

According to the 2018 Yellow Social Media Report, the time-draining nature of social media is one of the top reasons for businesses not using social media in the year ahead.

While we understand how updating your social platforms such as Facebook can be an arduous task, the truth is it doesn’t have to be!

Here are our top tips for posting on Facebook efficiently and effectively so you can still have time for that extra arvo coffee!

Content Creation

Whether you are creatively incompetent or a graphic design genius – crafting original, thump-stopping content is time-consuming. It’s no secret the crew here at #SMPerth are massive fans of Canva, and we’ll tell you time and time again! Canva takes the dread out of content creation. This godsend app allows you to add your brand kit and premade templates. Then all you have to do is add images and edit the text. You can download your work to a computer or even better, share your masterpiece directly to Facebook – easy!

Content Curation

What is content curation? Content curation is as simple as collecting content that others have shared and then sharing it onwards to your audience. The advantage of content curation is that you can pull together valuable information for your followers at minimal cost.

Finding quality content can be taxing, but Facebook’s Save Feature has got you covered. The Save Feature allows you to earmark content posted by others so you can easily access it later. You can then either schedule it to your Facebook Page or another social platform including Instagram, LinkedIn or Twitter.

Schedule Posts

Did you know you can schedule and automate your Facebook posts? Facebook allows you to create, edit and publish content at predetermined times so you can manage your time more efficiently. The benefits here are that you can schedule a week (or two) worth of posts all in one sitting. You can also set up your posts so that they update when your audience is online even if you are not!

Using other social media platforms as well? Then we’d recommend using a third-party app like Hootsuite, Buffer or CoSchedule – that way you can post to multiple platforms all from one place!

Facebook Insights

If you have a Facebook business page, then chances are you have already checked out Insights (if you haven’t shame on you, do it now!) Using Facebook Insights is a great way to save time in the future because it helps you to understand the tastes and behaviours of your audience. Paying attention to the analytical side of things can help you build effect content that will create more engagement, and therefore allow you to spend time on the things that matter.
