If you have an Instagram account, you should no doubt be familiar with how hashtags work.
Following hashtags on Instagram is an excellent way to keep up to date with related posts. It makes it easier to stay connected to current trends being shared by others.
Instagram has recently brought out a new feature which allows a user to follow certain hashtags; instead of following an actual account you can follow a hashtag and the posts that have that hashtag attached will get filtered through your newsfeed.
This works well if you want to see posts about a particular event, product or service – instead of following a certain account and viewing every post they share, you will get to see related content from a number of hashtags you follow.
You can use Instagram’s Follow Hashtags feature by using these 5 easy steps:
Step 1: Click on the Search tab.
Step 2: Tap the Search Bar at the top of the screen and then hit the “Tags” tab.
Step 3: Type in your hashtag you want to follow.
Step 4: Click on the hashtag you searched.
Step 5: Tap the blue “Follow” button at the top of the screen.
That’s it! Your followed hashtags will now filter into your feed. You will be able to receive related content a lot easier now.

Following Events
If you want to see posts about a particular event, then following that event through hashtags would be your best chance to view posts from it.
If events have a popular phrase like #WhyWeWearBlack from the Golden Globes, then this will also provide you the information that you would want.
Keep up to Date With the Latest Trends
Keeping up to date with the latest trends just got a whole lot easier as you can view a range of related posts by clicking the hashtag.
Different views about a particular trend is great to see, as a new post on a related issue might change your mind about it.

If you don’t like following hashtags then you can stay connected at a glance by refreshing the explore tab.
It will give you the ability to view recent posts uploaded by others around you and it is based on similar photos you have liked and viewed.
